Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Burnsed Trucking collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains personal information, including information submitted through our website, employment application, and application-status text messaging program.
Effective July 31, 2026Version 2026-07-31
Scope
This policy applies to personal information handled by Burnsed Trucking in connection with this website, our freight quote and contact forms, the employment application made available through Typeform, and the Burnsed Trucking application-status text messaging program. In this policy, “Burnsed,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Burnsed Refrigerated Trucking and Express.
This policy does not govern a third party’s separate services or practices, even when this website links to or uses that third party’s service.
Information we collect
Website and device information
When you visit the website, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, access times, referring page, and security or anti-fraud signals. We use this information to operate, secure, and understand use of the website.
Freight quote and contact information
If you request a quote or contact us, we collect the information you provide. This may include your name, company, email address, phone number, contact preference, inquiry or message, shipment origin and destination, requested dates, commodity, cargo condition, temperature or handling requirements, service type, packaging, counts, weight, and supporting files you choose to submit.
Job applicants and employment-related information
If you apply for a job, we may collect information from your application, Typeform responses, resume, communications, and hiring-process records. This may include your name, contact information, location, work-authorization confirmation, role interests, employment history, experience, qualifications, licenses, CDL and driving information, interview availability, references, and other information you choose to provide.
Sensitive information and documents
Later in a hiring, screening, or onboarding process, Burnsed may need records such as government identifiers, work-authorization documents, licensing records, or medical-certification records. We seek to limit sensitive information to what is reasonably needed, restrict access to personnel and providers with a business need, use it for the purpose for which it was collected, and dispose of it when it is no longer required, subject to legal and recordkeeping obligations.
General website and contact forms are not appropriate for Social Security numbers (SSNs), birth certificates, banking details, or medical documents unless Burnsed expressly directs you to a designated secure method. Please do not place those materials in a general message, quote request, or other undesignated field.
Text messaging information
If you separately opt in to application-status text messages, we may collect your mobile number, consent choice and related date or source, message content and history, delivery status, and HELP, STOP, and other opt-out records. Participating carriers and messaging providers may also process technical information needed to transmit and support messages.
How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- Respond to freight quote requests, contact messages, and service inquiries
- Recruit and evaluate applicants, communicate about application status, schedule interviews, request missing information, and support hiring and onboarding
- Operate, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website, forms, and text messaging program
- Protect our systems, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate incidents, and enforce our policies
- Maintain business records and comply with legal, regulatory, safety, and recordkeeping obligations
- Measure website performance and understand aggregate usage
Application-status text messages
The Burnsed Trucking application-status text messaging program is optional. If you voluntarily provide your mobile number and check the separate SMS consent box, we may send application confirmations, application-status updates, interview scheduling messages, requests for missing information, and hiring-process reminders. Consent to text messages is not a condition of applying or employment.
Message frequency varies based on your application activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of further messages and reply HELP for help. You may also contact us using the phone number or email address below. Opting out of texts does not prevent Burnsed from contacting you through another method about your application.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to personnel who need it for their work and to vendors that provide services on our behalf. Depending on the service involved, those vendors may include Typeform, messaging platforms such as Twilio, participating telecommunications carriers, and providers of hosting, storage, email, security, analytics, recruiting, background screening, or professional advice. These parties may use the information to provide services to Burnsed, subject to their agreements and applicable law.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; protect rights, safety, property, and security; investigate fraud or misuse; or support a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Mobile information and SMS consent are not shared for marketing
Mobile information and text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information only to service providers, messaging platforms, telecommunications carriers, and other vendors that help us deliver and support the text-messaging program, or when required by law.
Cookies and analytics
The website and its service providers may use cookies, server logs, and similar technologies needed to provide, secure, and measure the website. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for website measurement and performance information. We also use Google Analytics to measure page views and website interactions. These services may process technical and usage information as described in their own privacy notices. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in its partner-sites privacy notice.
You can use your browser settings to block or remove cookies, but doing so may affect some website features. Information submitted in a form is used as described in this policy and is not treated as anonymous analytics data.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate operational, recruiting, recordkeeping, legal, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention, and security needs. The retention period varies based on the type of information, the status of a request or application, applicable requirements, and whether the information is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. When information is no longer required, we seek to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Safeguards may include access restrictions, purpose-based handling, service-provider controls, and measures intended to protect systems and files. No website, storage system, transmission, or security measure is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information you have provided, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some requests may be limited by legal, security, operational, or recordkeeping requirements.
To stop application-status text messages, reply STOP. For help with the text messaging program, reply HELP. You may also submit a privacy request by contacting us using the information below.
Children's privacy
This website and our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the website, please contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
External services and links
The website may link to or use services operated by third parties, including Typeform and communications, analytics, or recruiting providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy notices. We encourage you to review those notices before providing information directly to a third party.
